AIPMT re conduct: The Supreme Court on Friday accepted the CBSE’s plea seeking more time to re-conduct AIPMT 2015. The SC directed CBSE to declare the AIPMT results by August 17.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pleas the SC seeking more time i.e. 3 months on Thursday to re conduct AIPMT, CBSE told that it was impossible to re-conduct AIPMT within four weeks and appealed for three months time duration.
The education board’s counsel solicitor general Ranjit Kumar had told the court that it would be impossible to hold the exam again within the given time because the board was overburdened with work as it was conducting seven exams simultaneously.
Earlier, The SC rejected the CBSE’s contention that scrapping the exam would affect lakhs of students and delay the admission process in medical colleges across the country.
Approx 6.3 lakh students appeared for AIPMT 2015 exam this year, at 1,050 centres across India for over 3,800 medical seats.
On 15 June, the Supreme Court of India directed CBSE to conduct AIPMT fresh test within a month. Now around 6.3 lakh candidates have to reappear for All India Pre Medical Test i.e. for fresh AIPMT.
The SC Vacation bench said CBSE, “Your system has failed, you have been outwitted and outmanoeuvred by cheaters using electronic devices in exam hall.”
The Supreme Court of India pronounced its judgment on a pleas of Tanvi Sarwal seeking AIPMT 2015 re examination for test held on 3rs May 2015 in view of irregularities in conducting examination.
