Akshay Kumar Birthday: Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar turns 49 today. On his special day let’s take a tour to his journey in Bollywood, “how Akshay became the superstar of nation” and know some less known facts about him.

Like all the actors the success journey of  of ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’ Akshay was not easy. The actor had no god father in the industry to show him the way and support him. All that he has achieved today is all because of his talent and hard work.

Many of us don’t know that Akshay’s real name is Rajeev Bhatia and he changed it to ‘Akshay Kumar’ before entering the Bollywood. He is son of late Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia and was born in Amritsar.

Success Journey of Akshay Kumar

His father was an army officer. He did his schooling from Don Bosco School and later went to Bankonk for learning martial art. Akshay is trained in Thai boxing and Tai Chi and isa six-degree black belt holder.

The surprising fact about him is that he joined Metro guest house in Bankonk, where he worked as a chef and waiter. Akshay made his debut as the lead actor in Saugandh which was released in 1991 opposite Raakhee and Shantipriya which was a flop later in the year he gave another flop film ‘Dancer’.

He got his first hit ‘Khiladi’ in 1992 and with more hit releases as ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’, ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi, ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’, he eventually acquired the name Khiladi and came to be known for his action.

His comedy movies were also loved by the audience and he gave number of comedy films that were blockbusters and full entertainment like Hera Pheri, Mujhse Shadi Karogi, Welcome, Phir Hera Pheri, Housefull and many more.

He saw great success in year 2007, when he gave four back to back hits Namastay London, Hey Baby, Bhool Bhulaiya and Welcome.

Now Akshay Kumar is unstoppable. Besides comedy and action movies he has shown tremendous acting skills in movies like ‘Baby’, Special 26 and his recent hit “Rustom”

This is how he has survived in the khans dominated industry. With his extreme hard work he has turned the tables for himself and from a waiter he has turned into Bollywood’s superstar and the 9th highest paid actor in world. Besides being a great actor he has got a big heart. He has donated big amount to the farmers.
