“Ganesh Chaturthi”, the religious festival in India, celebrated by Hindus. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Chaturthi is also known as Vinayaka Cavithi, Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganesha Chaturthi.
It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born on the fourth day of Magh and particularly in that period it is said that there is an interconnection between Ganesh and Chaturthi. Chaturthi means “fourth day” or “fourth state”. Celebrations are held on the fourth day of the first fortnight (Shukla Chaturthi) in the month of Bhaadrapada in the Hindu calendar, usually in the month of August or September in the Gregorian calendar.
The “Ganesh Puja” is religious festival, which is celebrated for ten days and it ends on the fourteenth day of the fortnight (Anant Chaturdashi). Celebrate the festival of Lord Ganesh the ‘elephant-headed’ God and the symbol of power and wisdom. His name is taken before beginning any work and people say “Ganpati Bappa Mourya” as it is considered as fortunate. Lord Ganesh is called by many names like Gajanana, Dhoomraketu, Ekdanta, Vakratunda, Sidhdhi Vinayaka, Vighna harta and many more.
