Vir Das and Soha Ali Khan’s ’31st October’ reminds Riots of 1984

31st October is built on the true story of riots of 1984 and assassination of the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The trailer of the film “31st October” starring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das has been released by the makers yesterday and when looking at the trailer, the film appears to be heart rending.

A Heart Hitting Trailer of 31st OCTOBER

The film is a Political thriller which explores the troubles of a Sikh family trapped in the riots of 1984 which was followed the murder of PM Indira Gandhi. The movie is directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil and written by Harry Sachdeva. It has already gathered a lot of appreciation at several foreign film festivals; London Indian Film festival on 18 and 20 July 2015.

The preview of the film arise goose bumps as it highlights the struggles of a Sikh family after the murder of Mrs Gandhi and also elevates a number of questions like Is it defensible to make everybody suffer for the wrong actions of a few?, etc

Reminds Riots of 1984 and Assassination of Indira Gandhi

Vir Das plays the lead role of ‘Devender Singh’ in the 31st October film and Soha will play the role of his wife  Tejinder. Though several Bollywood movies have been made before that are based on real life incidents, this would be the first time a ordinary film based on the 1984 riots is brought to celluloid. The trailer appears to be very promising and makes the viewers curios to watch the film.  The movie is scheduled for worldwide release on October 7. The movie 31 st October is also trending on social media.
